Playtest Insights and Next Steps
Hello everyone, this is the Massive Paradox team.
As you know, we have been actively developing the co-op rogue-lite FPS “Greedshot” for several months now. Game development is always difficult, so it is very important to fix systematic flaws before they become irreparable problems.
To do this, we sent a prototype to playtest to collect the data we need. Here are some statistics:
Based on the analysis of reviews, we were able to find out the average ratings for different parameters
We can say that we are happy with the average ratings for gameplay and art style. Yes, the story rating is low - but we never wanted to make a story-oriented game. In fact, the only thing that is really disappointing is the low recommendation rating.
If we study specific reviews from real people (unfortunately, some testers used chat-GPT to generate reviews), we will note that players did not like
- Difficulty of navigation - players got lost in the arena and did not know where to go after completing the mission. We are working on this now.
- A more expanded role of the store - in addition to weapons, we will also add first aid kits with grenades (and give grenades a more important role). All this can also be found in boxes in the arenas themselves.
- Enemy AI - this is much more difficult. In the prototype, we did not actively work on the intelligence of bots, so the work here will be long. First, we will achieve a stable reaction of bots to the appearance of a player in their field of vision
- Monotony is more a problem of the prototype than the game itself. The full version will have many types of locations (and now only docks), several types of missions, battles with bosses. And as a dessert, we will add partial destruction on the levels.
